Company Clothing and the ASBCI are organising a special one-day event in September that will bring together sizing experts and technology suppliers in a practical and informative fair to address this difficult issue.

When Company Clothing teamed up with the Association of Suppliers to the British Clothing Industry last September to organise a special seminar on garment sizing and fit, we discovered just how big an issue this is for all sectors of the clothing industry.

Fashion retailers and corporatewear suppliers and buyers attended the seminar, keen to explore the issue and look for solutions, because getting it wrong – or right – can have a major impact on the bottom line.

The aim of the Interactive Sizing Fair is to provide delegates with a unique opportunity to access practical advice and experience the technologies that can help to resolve fit issues.

This exciting new format will combine special seminars on sizing with an interactive display of sizing technologies such as bodyscanners, fit mannequins and 3D garment design software, bookable one-on-one sessions with experts and the opportunity to network and share experiences with your peers. Space will also be given to other technology providers to demonstrate how their products and services can help clothing suppliers improve all aspects of their business.

Among the seminar speakers will be Ed Gribbin from Alvainsight, a division of global sizing specialist Alvanon, who will be flying in from the US to speak at the event, and he will focus on the specific problems of fitting tailored clothing.

The seminar programme will run throughout the day, and while the overall focus will be on sizing, the programme will extend to other important practical issues facing the clothing sector.
